52 Ancestors Challenge 2015: Week 22 Recap

52ancestors-2015-22Week 22. To say that time is flying would be an understatement. So many things are happening right now. I’m embarrassed that I’ve fallen behind in my own challenge. Please know that even though I haven’t been blogging about my own ancestors, I have certainly enjoyed reading about yours.

Among the many posts I read and enjoyed this week were:

Your Turn

Who did you write about this week? Leave a comment with a link to your post and a little bit about your ancestor. Also be sure to take a look at the posts from Week 21. There are some wonderful Memorial Day tributes.

    VONDER HALBEN

Following the theme of “Commencement,” I wrote about my Vonder Halben cousins who were teachers in Cincinnati.  Eleanor and Matilda even graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1913 and 1915, respectively.

I wrote ab out my Grandmother’s sister, Edna Hudson. She was the first woman in the family to earn a Master’s Degree, and she did at the University of California at Berkeley when she was from Fort Worth , Texas!

Susan KASER KERR (1849-after 1910) and Elsie KERR FRITZ (1883-1962)

This Susan is the oldest sister of my father’s father, and her daughter Elsie is one of the rare Kaser cousins who stayed in touch with my father and his brother. I almost knew her! (Although this was published at the appropriate time, I was on a road trip, and it was difficult to post a comment here.)
