   I made my father a promise when his health no longer permitted him to research our family history. I would take over and learn more about his maternal grandfather’s line: Muir from Scotland. I also promised I would write a book about what I learned. I had no idea how large a task that would turn out to be. This week I wrote about the process I am using to write that multi-volume, electronic book.

   FURLANI 52 Ancestors 2015 Edition: #26 Candido ‘Condy’ Furlani (1888 – 1938) by Eileen Souza

   For the halfway mark, I have chosen my grandfather, Candido Furlani. Candido went by the name Condy in the United States. I never knew him as he died before I was born. I selected him for this week’s post because I feel that I am only halfway through my research on his line.

    Amanda Larimer Horne– no. 42 (week 26). It’s been several years since I’ve researched Amanda and this time I learned she was a dressmaker. Now I understand how she made the beautiful baby gown hanging in my bedroom. It always pays to take a look back.

    HOPGOOD, Mary (1823-1894) – My 2 times great grandmother’s HOPGOOD line continues to give me headaches, no doubt from banging my head against that intimidating brick wall! I know her father was probably William according to her marriage certificate. She emigrated with her husband Charles ANDREW from Cornwall / Devon to Prince County PEI Canada in 1842. Other than that it’s all guesswork.
